Background
Sage Creek Ranch is located four miles south east of the City of
Cody Wyoming. The three hundred acre property commands spectacular views to
Heart Mountain and the Absoroka Range. Perched atop a grassy ridge, the cluster
of ranch buildings is sheltered by a grove of mature cottonwood trees. Sage
Creek flows below the compound through a retention pond of high ecological
importance.
In 2005, DLANDstudio designed an environmental development plan to identify and
delineate sites on the property that would maximize profitability in future
sale while simultaneously limiting environmental impact. Site selection
required a balance of easy access, control of view, availability of water and
protection of sensitive riparian areas. These factors
helped us assess optimal feasibility of different development scenarios.
